It doesn’t happen often but occasionally we get a boomerang client. What is a boomerang client? It is the endearing term we use for clients who temporarily leave our service in order to “try” another transcription service. We are not offended by this phenomena in fact, it is what most of us will do in our business and personal lives at some point. You may use a product or service, it’s going well and you get out of it what you expect every time but curiousity gets the better of us, we like change, so we give something else a go.
We find that many of our clients who do this will come back to us quite quickly and always with stories of issues experienced on the other side, typically poor quality transcripts or slow turnaround times. Often for reasons of cost, almost without a doubt trialling an alternative is about cost reduction, yet rarely can you reduce costs and maintain quality, something has to give.
The transcription industry is a very manual business. Real people will sit and listen to your audio and real people will proof read what those people have transcribed, it is as accurate as it can be and takes native Australian speakers with the skills to produce this work.. This takes time and costs real dollars.
